Hello, my name is Ako. I'm the person who's behind making all the Ebony & Ivory jewllery.

Since I came to the UK as a Japanese girl, I didn't know there were so many talented peopIe selling their works in markets all around the country, and that there were so many ways to show your works to people. So, that has inspired me alot to hand craft things and to start selling my own creations.

Although, loving to create different things since I was a little girl, I wasn't sure first what to start creating here in the UK. Also only a limited space available to work from home, I found myself that jewellery making was the best thing for me to do! So, in 2004 my jewellery making began.

Still Ebony & Ivory jewellery pieces are created from my home. I am enjoying creating each jewllery pieces all the time and excited to think who will be wearing them! Now having some of my jewellery pieces in some of the nicest shops around the world, I am never happy as ever!

Most of Ebony & Ivory jewellery pieces are carefully created using vintage materials from the 50's to 70's. Sometimes with these materials, you may see some stains or scratches on them, but I believe it gives more charm and uniqueness to the piece! I hope like these vintage materials my jewellery will be special to you and hope it can be cherished for a long time.
